And I absolutely mean it, being fit is crucial for every leader. But not only for them, in my opinion, it’s also a necessity for all kinds of entrepreneurs, business owners and other high achievers.
Although many people neglect it you can’t be fully successful without good physical condition. To lead you have to be fit mentally, physically and spirituality.
The reason for that is pretty simple – you need a tonne of energy.
And there is nothing more demanding than running your own business or being a leader for other people in a company you work at. But it’s much more than only that.
We live in extremely demanding times where it’s very difficult to find time to work out. Most of us work more than 40 or even 50 hours a week. Plus regular stuff like groceries, kids, relationships…
Who’s got time to work out?!
The answer is no one. You have to find time to do it. It’s not easy, I know. I’m doing whatever I can to avoid my workouts 😀 but I keep explaining myself how important it is to do it.
That’s why I decided to write down a few things about it. Why it’s so important to be fit, what can you do to be and stay healthy as entrepreneur and most importantly – how it will improve your results.
That’s right – working out can and will improve your results. I’m a walking proof to that.
Why Being Fit Means so Much for Leadership?
The main reason can be already found above – you need a tonne of energy to be a leader. How can you motivate and energize someone to work if you can barely find enough energy to show up?
That will not work, simple as that. But don’t take my words for granted. Observe other leaders or ask yourself a question: would you rather work with someone who lacks energy or the opposite?
I think the answer is pretty obvious.
That does not mean you have to be full of beans and burst with energy. Don’t try to be someone you are not. Ever. That doesn’t work even more than leader with low energy level.
The whole point of being fit as a leader or entrepreneur is to find enough strength and energy to face everyday difficulties and challenges.
Apparently confidence and decisiveness have a direct link to the physical body state.
So in order to be productive and efficient manager you have to maintain a good level of overall physical condition. And you do that by working out and eating well.
Besides, people you work with tend to unconsciously mimic your behaviors, so you should give them good example. It also impacts your productivity, creativity and mental wellness.
As you can see there are quite a few good reasons to take good care of yourself.
A healthy mind lives in a healthy body – remember that the next time you will be telling yourself you don’t have enough time to work out.

Can Fitness Improve Your Business Results
Especially that it can and it will improve your business results. Something that business owners and entrepreneurs should have in mind all the time.
The results of your business venture are greatly dependent on your personal performance.
You are the driving force of your company, act like one.
And nowadays it seems like everyone is just talking about beast modes. Beast mode this, beast mode that. Have you ever seen a real beast? They are beasts for a reason, their physical strength is enormous.
So if you want to have a beast mode available your physical and mental strength has to be on very high level. Again, you have to take care of yourself. Your mind is directly linked to your body, whether you like it or not.

Many entrepreneurs, business owners and hustlers are neglecting it, because they don’t have time. They have to hustle. I get it, I’m a hardcore hustler myself and I want to give 120% every single day.
But you know what? You can’t do it if physically you’re weak af. Do you feel me? You don’t have to go to the gym. You can swim, run, hike or dance. Just do any kind of activity two or three times a week.
Here are the five most important outcomes and reasons why you should exercise:
- Lower your stress level
- Improve your brain power
- Boost your confidence
- Overcome daily challenges
- Increase your energy level
If you do that, I can guarantee your results will blast through the roof. You will run through every obstacle that will get in your way. No mountain too high, no ocean too deep.
I can see it on my own example. The moment I begin to skip workouts I feel tired and overwhelmed. Like I will not ever make it. So what do I do? I get back to my training routine.
What can You do to be More Fit as Entrepreneur
However, I know how difficult it is to find time to be more fit as an entrepreneur.
Luckily there are a few things all of us can do that do not require too much of time commitment. Which is pretty crucial for all hustlers and business owners.
We all suffer from the same disease, a chronic lack of time. That’s why it’s important to make sure it will not eat up few hours every day and it will give us the required boost.
The good news is you don’t prepare for any kind of sport competition.
I mean you can, it will surely spice things up and potentially will give you extra motivation. But it’s not a must. The main goal here is to feel better, increase your energy and improve your brain power.
And you can achieve that even by investing as little as 30 mins several times a week. The thing is that if it will take too much time and you will demand too much from yourself you might give up.
It’s a better idea to start slow, especially at the beginning.
Besides, it will be much easier to squeeze that into your extremely tight schedule. And that’s the first thing you should do. Plan your exercises and stick to your schedule.
Think about it as your “me time”, you have to make some time for yourself, right? Your exercise can be basically anything: gym, swimming pool, jogging, hiking, martial arts, dance classes, you name it.
Although, some might be a little bit more demanding than others. But any activity is good activity.
You just have to pick up something that feels best for you. For me for example it’s gym. The reasons are simple: I can do it on my own and whenever I have time for a workout.
From that perspective running is also great, but I hate running for the sake of running 😉 but it’s a great activity if you like it. Whatever works best for you and your schedule, my friend.
Few years ago I tried capoeira classes and I loved it!
The only problem was I couldn’t quite make it on time… so sometimes I wasn’t exercising, because of my work and sometimes I was rushing as crazy to catch a train to make it on time.
Awesome. Not exactly how I would want that to look like. So I gave up. And switched to gym which is much more flexible and doesn’t cause me additional stress. Absolute winner for me.
But as I said it can be anything.
Over time you will develop a habit of exercising and it won’t feel like a time sacrifice anymore. Every entrepreneur and business owner should move a little bit to keep going.
What else? Go for a walk once in a while make sure you ingest your vitamins and minerals.
How to Stay Healthy as an Entrepreneur
And how can you stay healthy as an entrepreneur once you have finally went through a few tough weeks? Furthermore how can you improve your health and state of being even further?
There are two absolutely crucial things.
You can eat better and you can sleep better. It’s an old truth that if you eat shit you will feel like shit. That’s just how it is. So in order to feel like semi-god that can run through walls you have to improve your nutrition.
That doesn’t mean you have to give up everything. You can still have a burger with fries. Just maybe not 3 times a week. Right nutrition will give you enough energy to work and exercise.
I know how difficult it is to cook your own meals.
And if you are as bad as me at cooking you probably don’t even want to. That’s why it’s a smart move to use one of the companies that will deliver healthy meals right to your doorstep in boxes.
It’s quick, tasty, healthy and reasonably cost-efficient. As an entrepreneur you don’t have time to cook your own meals. At least I don’t. But it doesn’t justify running on fast foods all week long.
Eating clean will keep you in good shape even if you skip your workouts. Keep that in mind.
Focus on fruits, vegetables and low-fat meats. And don’t forget the carbs, they’re important. You don’t get fat from carbs, you don’t get fat from fat either. On top of that you have to get enough sleep. How much is that? Dunno, everyone’s different. Some people need 10 hours, while others ideal amount is 6.
Sleep as much as you need to feel energetic.
For me it’s anything between 6 and 7.5 hours. Sometimes a little bit more, but usually more than 7.5 makes me slow and not sharp enough. On the other hand less than 6 and I feel simply tired.
Don’t sacrifice your sleep hours in order to accomplish another task. Once in a while is fine, but don’t over use it. Maybe you’re planning too much? Or you don’t have a plan at all?
Your productivity is usually dropping due to lack of sleep, so be smart about it.
Even entrepreneurs and hustlers need to sleep.
